Easily Show Password Fields in Firefox, Internet Explorer, Netscape and Opera

I usually choose the "Remember" option for logins in Firefox because I just can't remember them all.If you want to reveal these passwords under the asterisks in browser like IE,Firefox ,Opera you can do it using a simple javascript.

All you have to do is copy the javascript code and paste it into the address bar and hit Enter.A dialog box will prompt and your password is shown!Check below screen shot.

Firefox users can set a master password but that will require using the master password whenever logging into a site.Turning off javascript will protect you from this hack but then you might face problems viewing websites that uses javascript. Simple rule to protect your password. Do NOT save your password if you’re using a shared computer. If you’re using a public computer, make sure you clear the cache and private data just in case you accidentally saved your password.

 Vixy.net (google vixy) is an online video converter that will convert online Flash video (FLV) into MOV (for QuickTime or iTunes), AVI (for Windows Media Player with DivX), MP4 (for iPod) or an audio MP3 format file.


You may use Vixy to download MP3 audio or .mov videos from non YouTube video sites like blip.tv, Revver or Veoh provided the owner has shared content under an appropriate Creative Commons license. Vixy captures and converts the video clip in the browser itself from where you can download and save it to the desktop or your digital player directly.

While Vixy makes it possible to download YouTube videos to iTunes or convert YouTube vides to MP3 files, please abstain from doing so because Google Policies prohibit such an activity.

If you have a website, you can download Vixy Flash conversion engine since it is open source and offer video conversion or video to audio conversion services on your site for free.

Vixy also provides a desktop based software to convert FLV Flash videos to MPEG4 file formats like AVI, MOV, MP4, MP3 and 3GP for mobile phones. Unlike the Vixy online service, this software won't grab flash videos.

In my personal experience, Vixy.net changes the bit rate while converting a video to an MP3 song so the extracted sound or music is not always in sync with the video. You can however fix this in audio editing software like Adobe Audition or Audacity.


Update: In the case of Google Videos, you are permitted to save FLV Google videos as MP4 files for the iPod or PSP by clicking the "download video" button on the Google Video website itself.

There's a good chance that the animation video or cartoon game you want to download from the Internet was created using Adobe Flash. So here are tips to help you download Flash files from the Internet to your hard drive. You can save all Flash animations from web pages, including Flash websites, video games, software tutorials, Flash Movie Trailers, banner advertisements, or what ever Flash files you find in the web.

Shockwave Games, Website elements, Screencasts (software demos) created in Macromedia Flash (swf) always fascinate me. I generally like to save these flash files embedded in webpages to my hard-drive for offline viewing.

But saving flash animations from websites is not so easy. Macromedia Flash player context menu has no option to download or save the Flash movie from the web browser. The right-click context menu of most browsers won't work on Flash objects. So I will share some techniques (work-arounds) to save flash files from Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer (IE), Opera or MyIE2 web browsers.

Saving Flash files from Firefox

Firefox for Newbies
a. Click Tools - Page Info
b. Click the Media Tab on the Page Info Windows
c. The media tab has a complete list (with preview) of Images, CSS Files and Shockwave Flash files that were downloaded by the Firefox browser while rendering (loading) the page.
d. Scroll down the list and locate the swf file.
e. Click the "Save As" button. Select some directory on your hard drive and save the file (No need for a third-party plug-in)

Firefox for Geeks and Power Users
a. Type about:blank in the Firefox address bar
b. Now click List cache entries or directly type about:cache?device=disk (Disk cache device)
c. Press Ctrl+F and try to location the flash file by typing some part of website URL or the flash file name or just .swf. After some hit and trial, you should be able to locate the swf file URL
d. Click the SWF URL to open the Cache Entry Information page. Right click on the link and choose "Save link as"

How to save flash in IE browser

a. Click Tools - Internet Options
b. In the General Tab, click the Settings button available in the Temporary Internet Files group.
c. Click View Files to open your Temporary Internet Files folder. Depending upon your IE settings, the Temp. folder can contain tens of thousands of files.
d. Click View - Details. Now click View - Arrange Icons By - Internet Address. Depending upon the webpage, there could one or more Flash files (Shockwave Flash Object) under the Inernet Address.
e. Once you find the right flash file, right-click and choose Copy. Then paste the swf file in any other directory. Be sure to
keep the page and IE open to avoid purging of the cache file.

For newbies, I suggest the following approaches:
1. Get a download accelerator like Flashget and tell it to automatically download the shockwave extention (*.swf)
2. Or download a free IE plug-in for saving flash files.

How to save Flash files from Opera or Google Chromebrowser
Just like IE, these browsers store the flash files in the browser cache.
